Planning Meet during the Lock Down

After a 60 days long gab due to the country wide Lock Down for the prevention of COVID-19, a Planning Meet for the top level SEEDS Resource Institution staff was held at Mallankinar under Virudhunagar District on 25 th May 2020. The Secretary, Project Co-ordinators, Trainers, Chief Executive Officers of Farmer Producer Organisation and Project Managers were actively participated.    The meeting has discussed about the underlined major work loads in the project heads and evolved possible solutions to complete it within the stipulated time with personal care.    1.    Mobilisation of share holders. 2.    Meeting the legal compliance. 3.    Business plan preparation and execution with close monitoring. 4.    Value addition intra-devt/finance investment. Long term support vs subsidy or team loan. 5.    Moving towards financial sustainability. 6.    Availing new proposals which are all existing in all the Government. 7.    Linking with other FPOs in business

Rental Free Service – TAFE a Farmer Friendly Tractor

When we had a good monsoon and the water level was good. The prospects for the Rabi crop were looking very good. The Rabi season is crucial to sustain the livelihoods of the farmers of Tamil Nadu. At that time, the unfortunate novel Corona Virus Disease hit us. At this crucial juncture, TAFE come forward to do its best to support the small and marginal farmers of the State by offering free rental services of Massey Ferguson and Eicher tractors for 90 days from April 2. SEEDS organisation has made wide publicity to its member FPOs to utilize the opportunity appropriately. The SEEDS Farmer Producer Company Limited, Mallankinar has organized its board of Board of Director’s meeting and discussed the possibilities of getting benefits for their shareholders. The Board of Directors has taken this opportunity to 100 members and made possible till 14 th May 2020.   Ploughing and Bund forming activities have been taken up in Kariyapatti Blocks under Virudhunagar District.

Dry Ration for 100 vulnerable families through Antenna Trust

SEEDS proudly announce in its 25 th Silver Jubilee Year Celebration, Antenna Trust, Madurai – one of the long time partners of SEEDS organisation has come forward to support our Donate Now initiative with Rs.75, 000.  We have distributed “Home Pack of Groceries” each worth Rs.750 free of cost to 100 vulnerable families including single women, orphan children and shoe makers at a small function held in Palayampatti and Mallankinar under Virudhunagar District on 12 th May 2020.  Resource persons Mr.Doss from Antenna Trust, Madurai, The Sub Inspector of Mallankinar Police Station have participated and distributed the free packs to the affected people. Milk Support to 25 Nomadic Tribal Children

The corona virus pandemic and the nationwide lock down in Tamilnadu are not limited to a health issue. It is also a big economic crisis. The lock down has taken away the livelihood of daily laborers, women headed families and sanitary workers of our working area exposing them to vulnerable conditions and danger to infection. To fight the lack of food supplies and loss of income, SEEDS is working to help those affected. With our own funds, we have started to provide 200 ml of milk to each 25 poor children from Nomadic Tribal families in Panickanenthal village near Kariyapatti under Virudhunagar District to prevent from hunger during this country wide lock down period.   A local milk vendor from Kariyapatti has given Rs.4000 to supply 5 ML of milk to the identified families till 17 th May 2020.

SEEDS proudly announce in its 25 th Silver Jubilee Year Celebration, ASSEFA MADURAI – one of the long time partners of SEEDS organisation has come forward to support our Donate Now initiative with Rs.50, 000.  We have identified 50 Nomadic Tribes families in Panickanenthal village near Kariyapatti under Virudhunagar District and they provided with “NO Cost Home Products of Groceries” each worth Rs.1000 during this country wide lock down to prevent the killing disease COVID-19.     Our Sincere thanks to partner ASSEFA MADURAI for their valuable contribution to the needy at this crucial life time.    SEEDS jointly with Inbam Foundation, Kariyapatti provided food for 50 Nomadic Tribal Families in Panickanenthal village to relieve from the hunger.
